Herschel L. Grinstead, 60, died Friday, Sept. 5, 1980 while
fishing with his son-in-law, near their home in Michigan. He was born
Sept. 24, 1919. He was married in 1945 to Ollye Boyles. He was the son
of Roy E. Grinstead and Marie S. Crail. |

Hershel enlisted in the Army at Tipton, IN on 17
January 1941 and was assigned to Service Company, 508th PIR.
Pvt Grinstead was promoted to Technician 4th Grade
(temporary) on 5 November 1942.
T4 Grinstead was transferred to the 541st PIR on 16
August 1943 where he was apparently promoted to Sergeant. |
