Grave markers for John J. Grossi in Saint Joseph Cemetery,
Bristol (Hartford county), Connecticut. John
enlisted in the Army at Hartford, CT on 21 June 1943. On 312 March
19044 Pvt Grossi was transferred from Field Force Replacement Depot No.
8 to Hq Hq, 508th PIR.
Pvt Grossi was seriously wounded in action on 30
September 1944 and evacuated. He was transferred to the hospital's
Detachment of Patients on 2 January 1945 and did not return to the
regiment.
His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal
and the Purple Heart. |
