Grave markers for Pete J. Guariglia in East Oak Grove
Cemetery, Morgantown (Monongalia county), West Virginia.
Pete enlisted in the Army at Clarksburg, WV on 21
November 1942 and was assigned to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR..
Pvt Guariglia completed jump school and was declared a
qualified parachutist on 12 March 1943.
At 5 pm that same day he was admitted to the
Fort Benning hospital for reasons unknown.
He returned to duty on 25 April 1943 but on 14 May
1943 Pct Guariglia was transferred to the ZI [Zone of Interior]
