HENRY HAMILTON

Grave marker application for Henry Hamilton to have a marble marker place in Fugate Cemetery, Rowdy, KY.  Since his mother's maiden name was Fugate, this cemetery may have been on a family farm.

Despite the indicated plan for burial, he was laid to rest in the Neace Cemetery. Dice, KY.  This also appears to have multiple Fugate family interments.

Henry enlisted in the Army on 14 May 1941 at Fort Thomas, Newport, KY on 14 May 1941.  Since the draft law had not been enacted at that time, he registered for the draft, post-war, in Hazard, KY on 9 August 1945.

He was discharged on 22 May 1946 and was recalled on 1 September 1951 for the Korean Conflict.  He was discharged as a Sergeant on 29 November 1952.

Henry met an untimely death at the age of 36 on 24 December 1953 in what must have been a severe automobile accident. The medical examiner stated his death was '"instant" and that he suffered "crushing injuries of the head, chest and extremities."
