Grave markers for Rutherford B. Hamilton and spouse in Carr Cemetery, Cook Station (Crawford county), Missouri.

Rutherford enlisted at Fort Bragg. NC on 15 November 1945 and following completion of jump school was transferred to Company I, 508th PIR in Frankfurt.

When the 508th was inactivated in late 1946 Pfc Hamilton was transferred to 325th Parachute/Glider Infantry and remained there for the rest of his enlistment.

He was discharged on 12 August 1947.
