On 19 January 1950, Elmer submitted this Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus application.

He was credited with 30 months of domestic duty and 5 months of foreign service.  He was awarded a bonus of $375.

The application indicates that on 1 November 1944, Pvt Hartman had returned to the U.S., presumably for additional treatment in a military hospital.

Pvt Hartman was discharged from the Army on 8 February 1946.
