Grave marker of Charles F. Hayden in Section 47 Row 11 Site 9 of the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth (Leavenworth county), Kansas.

Charles enlisted at Cincinnati, OH on 15 October 1942 and was assigned to Company D, 508th PIR.

Pfc Hayden was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for his  participation in Normandy assault.  He was later awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic conduct in action on 1-2 October 1944 in Holland.
