FREDDIE R. HEACOCK

Grave marker for Freddie R. Heacock and spouse in Heritage Memorial Park, Dewey (Yavapai county), Arizona.

Freddie, a native of Idaho, registered for the draft in Bremerton, WA on 14 February 1942.  He was inducted into the army at Tacoma, WA on 13 October 1942.

Pvt Headlock's date of arrival in Hq 2nd, 508th PIR is unknown as the Morning Reports for that company are missing for 1942.

Pvt Heacock was wounded in action in France on 4 June 1944and evacuated to a field hospital.

On 21 September 1944 he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients and did not return to the regiment.

He was discharged on 27 April 1945.

On 29 December 1953, he married Winifred Arlene Horton in Maricopa, Arizona.  It is she who lies in rest with him.
