Death notice and burial record for George D. Heater in the Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville (Fayette county), Pennsylvania.

George enlisted in the Army at Greensburg, PA on 13 January 1943 and volunteered for parachutist duly.  Pvt Heater was transferred from the Parachute School, Fort Benning, GA to Company E, 508th PIR on 9 August 1943.

On 2 September 1943 Pvt Heater was transferred to the 990th Replacement Station and did not return to the regiment.

 He did, however, go into action and less than a year later was reported to have been wounded in action in the Mediterranean.
