Mervyn G. Heath enlisted in the Army at Pittsburgh, PA on 3 March 1943 and volunteered for parachutist duty.  After an initial assignment to Service company he was transferred to Company E on 16 October 1943..

On 18 March 1944 Pvt Heath was admitted to the 39th General Hospital, Mansfield, England. 

On 26 May 1944 he was transferred to the 184th General Hospital (APO 514*), and then to the 186th General Hospital (APO 165**).  Finally on 16 June 1944 Pvt Heath was relieved from his attachment to the 186th Hospital and sent home, presumably for further treatment.

On 5 July 1944 he was one of 19 passengers (see line 2) listed on Trans World Airlines aircraft #137297 arriving at LaGuardia Airport, New York, NY from Stephenville, Newfoundland.  It is not yet known what flight he was on between England and Newfoundland.

Mervyn died on 18 June 1986 in Farmington Hills (Oakland), MI.
