KURT HENDRICKSON

   Kurt H. Hendrickson, 59, who was bon in Kalmar, Sweden. died Aug. 30, 1982 in the Veterans Administration Nursing Home.
   Mr. Hendrickson moved to the United States when he was nine months old.  He moved to Tucson in 1949 and to Phoenix in 1953.  He was involved in the food and beverage business and worked for Mountain Shadows Resort and the Arizona Biltmore.  Mr. Hendrickson, who was a member of the American Legion and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, served in the Navy* during World War II.
   Survivors include his wife, Gem; daughter Keats, sons, Karr and Kord; five sisters, a brother and four grandchildren.
   Services were arranged by the Arizona Burial Cremation Service.

Kurt enlisted in the Army at Fort Hayes, OH on 16 September 1942.

Pvt Hendrickson was assigned to Company A, 508th PIR at Camp Blanding, FL.

He was promoted to Pfc on 21 July 1944.

On 17 February 1945 Pfc Hendrickson was evacuated to a field hospital and listed as a non-battle casualty.  On 31 May 1945 he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients and did not return to the regiment.

Kurt was discharged on 17 November 1945.

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations
