VICTOR LOPEZ HERNANDEZ


Memorial services for Victor Lopez Hernandez, 76, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Riverside. He died Thursday of a heart attack at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside is handling arrangements.

Mr. Hernandez, a lifelong resident of Riverside, was an entomology supervisor at March Air Force Base for 30 years, having retired in 1976.

He served as a private first class in the U.S. Army during World War II. Among his commendations were a Purple Heart, a World War II Victory Medal, a Combat Infantry Badge, a European/African/Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with Bronze Battle Star and

Mr. Hernandez enjoyed recycling materials and putting the money he received from that into his great-grandchildrens' savings accounts.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Diana of Grand Terrace, Ruth Partello of Rancho Cucamonga, and Livia Earp of Colton; two sons, Victor and James, both of Riverside; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Gonzales of Riverside.
