Wedding rites solemnize
couple in wedlock

At a ceremony performed at Grace Lutheran church April 5, with Rev. Leland Lesher officiating. Miss Helen Dorothy Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Baker, became the bride of Norris Everett Hinton. son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hinton of Stockville.
   The seven branch candelabra was lighted by Marjorie Ann Miller, cousin of the bride.. She wore a long flesh-colored organdy flowered dress over pink taffeta trimmed with blue ribbons.
   Miss Wenona Miller, who wore a long blue chiffon dries, sang, with Miss Irene Egan at the organ.
   The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, appeared in a white slipper satin dress with a full train. The sleeves were full and fell in points over the: hands The bodice was trimmed with lace and seed pearls. Her veil was finger-tip length and fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, sweetpeas and carnations.
   Miss Eleanor Baker, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and wore blue brocaded faille dress with puffed sleeves. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses, sweetpeas and carnations.. Misses Margaret Erb and Virginia Bergman were the bridesmaids. They wore peach and aqua flowered organdy respectively, made with full skirts and carried bouquets like that of the maid of honor,
   Dick Kennedy served as best man and the ushers were Bernard Oakes, Milton Greenwood and John E. Baker, Jr.
  A reception for 60 guests followed the ceremony at the bride's home. Miss Bertha Baker, aunt of the bride,

and Miss Goldie D. Kurtz were in charge of the dining room and they were assisted by Mmes. W. L Pritchard, Marshall Gibson and John E. Baker, Jr.   A wedding cake centered the table with vases of pink and white sweetpeas and carnations. Mrs. L. E. Bailey was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. R A. Hutton had charge of the gift room.
   The bride chose a beige two-piece dress with aqua accessories for traveling.
   After a short trip the couple will reside at 2615 Vine in Lincoln. Out of town guests included the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hinton of Stockville and Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Pritchard of David City.

   HINTON - Norris E., 54. Grand Island, died Tuesday. District manager, Acco Seed Co. Former Lincoln resident, employee. Farmers National Co. Graduate University of Nebraska. Survivors: wife. Helen; sons, Bruce, Lincoln, Brian, Grand Island; daughters. Mrs. Harley Rubottom. Denver. Christy, Grand Island; brothers, Howard. Albany. Ore., Dale, Curtis; sisters, Mrs. Alva Hagadorn. Mrs. Joe Appleyard. both McCook. Mrs. Bud Hall. Curtis; grandchild.
   Services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Grand Island. Graveside. 2:30 p.m. Lincoln Memorial Park. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home, Grand Island.

Grave maker for Norris E. Hinton in Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, (Lancaster county}, Nebraska.

Norris graduated from the Nebraska School of Agriculture, Curtis, NE on 22 April 1936.

He married Miss Helen Dorothy Baker in Lincoln, NE on 10 April 1942 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the U. S. Army on 1 June 1942.

1st Lt. Hinton was transferred from the 82nd Airborne Division Hq to Company E, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment on 23 July 1944.

The lieutenant was listed as seriously wounded in action and evacuated to the 4134th USA Hospital Plant LF in Falfield, Gloucestershire, England.

He was able to return to the 508th's Service Co on 6 November 1944 for further rest and recuperation.

On 7 January 1945, he was transferred back to Company E.

As a non-battle casualty, Lt Hinton was twice again hospitalized. First on 15 March 1945 through 31 March 1945 at the 242nd General Hospital in Camp Sissonne France and again at  Camp Sissonne on 4 April 1945 although his release date is unknown

 He was discharged from the Army on 14 February 1946.
