George Kelley Hipkins of Pulaski Hwy, Perryville, died
Tuesday, June 15, 1999 at his home. He was 77.
Mr. Hiplines was born in Wilmington, Del;. on July 19,
1921, a son of the late Clinton Hipkins and Georgia Fluharty Hipkins.
He was employed by the Steamfitters Union, Local 486,
Baltimore, Md.
A veteran, Mr. Hipkins was a Private First Class with the U.S.
Army. He was an anti-tank gunner with the 101st Airborne.
Mr. Hipkins 3wsed was member of Havre de Grace VFW, Post No. 8126
and Aberd33n Moose Lodge No. 1450.
Mr. Hipkins is survived by his son David Charles Hipkins of Elkton;
daughters Joan Inez Hipkins Nickle of North East and Jacqualynn Page of
Perryville; grandchildren Michael Page, Alisha Page and Larry Nickel;
and brother Charles Hipkins of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Mildred
Rosalea Hipkins, granddaughter Ann Nickel and sister Inez Hipkins Lee.
Friends called Friday June 18 at Patterson Funeral Home.
Perryville, from 1 to 2 pm with services following that day at 2 pm at
the funeral home.
The Rev.
Ralph Massie of North East Church of God, North East officiated.
Burial was at Principio Cemetery Perryville with full military
honors provided by the Rising Sun American Legion Posy Bop. 194, Rising
Sun.

Principio United Methodist Church Cemetery, Principio Furnace (Cecil
county), Maryland.
George registered for the draft in Wilmington, New
Castle, DE on 2 February 1942/ and was inducted into the Army at Fort
Dix, NJ; on 23 June 1944.
On 16 October 1945 Pfc Hipkins was transferred from
the 191st Airborne Division to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR. |
