William registered for the draft in Fort Lupton, CO and was inducted into the Army at Fort Logan, CO on June 1, 1944. 

Pfc Hisamoto was assigned to Company F, 508th after completing jump school. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in the 508th's General Order #12 on 28 Feb 1946.
