ALBERT S. HMURA
Hmura, Albert S. Albert S. Hmura age 88 of Bridgeport, beloved husband to the late Janet Ruszkowski Hmura passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2012. Albert was born on October 9, 1924 in Herbert, PA to the late Stephen and Catherine Hosa Hmura.

A resident of Bridgeport for 60 years, he worked for Metro Trucks in Bridgeport and Bullard Castings in Fairfield.

Albert was a proud veteran of World War 2 serving with the 508 "Red Devils" Parachute Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division under the command of General Gavin. He received a Purple Heart for action in Operation Market Garden and also earned 4 bronze campaign stars and a parachute combat jump arrowhead device. Albert was also at the Battle of Bulge in the Ardennes.

Survivors include a son Stephen Hmura of Monroe, a sister Katie Rosinsky of PA and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton for the wonderful care they gave Albert during the past year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Albert's name to the American Red Cross.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday January 3rd after 9am in the Commerce Hill Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport with services at 11am in the funeral home with Fr. Stefan Morawski officiating.

Inurnment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, St. Monica's Chapel, Trumbull with full military honors.
