ADRA C. HOCKER

MORGANTOWN --- A. C. HOCKER, 57, died Friday in Bowling Green. His wife, Opalene, survives. Funeral, 2 p.m., Monday, Smith Funeral Home.

Grave markers for Audra C. Hocker in Riverview Cemetery, Morgantown (Butler county), Kentucky.

Adra registered for the draft in Morgantown, KY on 30 June 1942.  He was inducted into the Army on 22 March 1943.

After completion of basic training Pvt Hocker was transferred to the 75th Infantry Division and he later volunteered for parachutist duty.

On 13 September 1944, Pfc Hocker was transferred from Hq 82d Airborne Division, Leicester, England to Service Company, 508th PIR.  He was subsequently transferred to Company I.

On 30 December 1944, Pvt Hocker was evacuated to a field hospital as a non-battle casualty. He did not return to the regiment and on 1 April 1945 was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients.

He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during the campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945 and was discharged on 22 January 1946.
