Onawan revived by resuscitation
   ONAWA, Iowa Ronald Hogancamp of Onawa, who suffered a severe electric shock in an accident Friday, was in the intensive care unit at Marian Health Center-St. Joseph Unit in Sioux City Saturday.
   Hogancamp, 48, was revived at the accident scene in an Onawa alley by cardio-pulmonary resuscitation performed by five other men.
   Hogancamp, who is employed by the City of Onawa, suffered the severe shock when he reportedly came in contact with an electrical line.
   Police Office Gary Addy said that when he arrived on the scene Dave Watson and Byron Thelander, both co-workers of Hogancamp's, were already performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on Hogancamp.
   Addy and two others Gene Persinger, an Onawa accountant, and Monona County Deputy Sheriff Sid Bartholomew also assisted in the resuscitation efforts.
   Hogancamp was taken to Burgess Memorial Hospital and later transferred to the Sioux City hospital. The hospital did not release a condition report on Hogancamp.

Electrical shock victim listed 'fair'

   Ronald Hogancamp of Onawa, Iowa, who suffered a severe electrical shock in an accident Friday, was listed in fair condition at Marian Health Center-St. Joseph Unit on Sunday.
   Hogancamp, 48, was transferred out of the intensive care unit, hospital officials said.
   Hogancamp, who is employed by the City of Onawa, suffered the shock when he came in contact with an electrical line. He was revived at the scene by cardio-pulmonary resuscitation performed by five men.

Ronald D. and Judy Hogancamp of Onawa, Iowa, have filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Sioux City because of an electric shock injury.
   The plaintiffs seek an unspecified amount of damages from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Malton Equipment Co. and Malton Electric Co.
   The complaint says the defendants manufactured and sold a defective transformer to the city of Onawa. Ronald Hogancamp was shocked by the equipment on Oct. 3, 1980, and suffered permanent neuropsychological injury, according to the complaint.
   Mrs. Hogancamp seeks damages for loss of consortium.

ONAWA, Iowa -- Ronald "Hoagie" Hogancamp, 71, of Onawa died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Army and Monona County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2694.
  Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
  Ronald was born May 4, 1931, in Onawa, the son of Bernard and Helen (Strunk) Hogancamp. He was a lifelong resident of Onawa.
   He joined the U.S. Army in January 1952, and became a certified parachutist after training at the Infantry School at Fort Benning, Ga. He served with Company G, 5th Infantry Regiment during the Korean Conflict.
   His awards and decorations include the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. He was discharged in January 1954.
   He married Judy Larimore on Nov. 5, 1952, in Pipestone, Minn. The couple made their home in Onawa, where he was a line foreman for the city of Onawa for 28 years until retiring.
   He was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa, Monona County Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2694 and a volunteer fireman for 14 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, fishing and hunting.
   Survivors include his wife, Judy; a son and his wife, Bill and Jill of Onawa; four grandchildren, Amy, Lindsay, Bobby and Michael Hogancamp; two great-grandchildren, Jarren and Jordan Young; a brother, Herschel Hogancamp of Dunedin, Fla.; a sister and her husband, Bonita and Carl Barnthouse of Dunedin, Fla.; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joleene and Paul Duff of Onawa, Joann and Clifford Davis of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Joyce and Mike Botsford of West Lake Village, Calif.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert; and a brother, Danny
