DONALD B. HOLLIS

Donald Hollis

JOELTON – Donald Burk Hollis, age 88, of Joelton, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Mr. Hollis retired from the United States Army after 20 years of dedicated Service including serving during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Al Menah Shriners and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge including membership in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
   He was preceded in death by his parents Jonah and Annie Mae Hollis; daughter Jackie Hollis; and siblings Virginia Gallagher, Dorothy McDowell, Buddy Hollis, G.W. Hollis, Betty Lawrence, and Mildred Brown.
   Survivors include his wife Wanda Hollis; daughter Donna (Steve) Ross; stepsons John Scott (Dawn) Atkins and Steven (Heather) Johnson; grandchildren Kelly, Matthew, Mickayla, Madisen, Jonathan, Lilli, Caleb, Dusty, and Jake; great grandchildren Samantha and Emma; and Siblings Odell Hollis, Brenda Batts, and Patricia Smith; and special friends Daniel, Ginger, Layla, and Jason Hamilton.
   Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 15th from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. (with a Masonic Ceremony starting at 7 P.M.), Thursday, August 16th from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again on Friday, August 17th from 12 P.M. until the hour of Service at 1 P.M. with Bro. Corey Minter and Bro. Barry Simpson officiating.
   Interment will follow at New Hope FWB* Church Cemetery.
   Step-sons, grandsons, and Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers..

Donald served with 3rd Battalion, 508th PIR and the 187th RCT. He was a veteran of the Korea and Vietnam conflicts.

Donald retired after serving 20 years in the Army.
