ERNEST C. HOLSOPPLE

Ernest C. Holsopple Sr., 60, of 412 Stoneycreek St., Boswell died evening of June 5, 1981, at VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born July 6, 1920, in Seanor [PA].

Preceded in death by father, Merril. Formerly married to Frances M. Turillo, who died November 6, 1979. Survived by mother, former Irene Hull, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and these children: Patricia, wife of Bill Belles, Berrien Springs, Mich.; Ellen, wife of Patrick Walsh, Boswell; and Ernest Jr., San Mateo, Calif., and four grandchildren: Heather, Tara and Troy Belles, and Shane Walsh. Brother of Mrs. Loretta Lauterbach, Meadow Brook, Pa.; Mrs. Twila Whittier of Heber, Ariz.; Brian of Parma, Ohio; Mrs. Carolyn Miller, Meadville, Pa.; and Mrs. Joyce McGinnis, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Army veteran of W.W. II, serving with the paratroopers.

Friends received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Donald Chamberlain. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society or Veterans Administration.

A memorial service was held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at Skinner-Silva Funeral Home of Phar, Texas, with Military Honors conducted by Post 101 of Pharr. There will also be a memorial service in Minnesota over the summer.
