JACK S. HORGER


COPE - Jack Simmons Horger, 71, died Thursday in an Orangeburg hospital. The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
Mr. Horger was born in Orangeburg County, a son of Andrew Horger and Augustus Inabinet Horger. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Sons of Confederate Veterans Rivers Bridge Camp and the 508th Paratrooper Infantry Regiment.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Bowles Horger; three sons, Leonard Horger of Miami, and Richard Horger and Michael Horger, both of Canaan; three daughters, Pinkie Horger of Bolestown, Debbie Stillinger of Orangeburg and Sherry Tomlinson of St. George; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
