Seaman Huntress To End Sub Training

This recap of a patriotic family, the status of four sons in the Huntress family are see serving in 2 branches of the military while stationed in the U.S. as well as England and New Guinea.

Pvt Warren Huntress (see last paragraph), completed two years of civil service in Pearl Harbor and is now at Camp Blanding, FL for paratroop training.

Family Update

Warren received the top billing in this article ...

   Pvt Warren Huntress, USA, has been spending a 15-day furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Harlon Huntress.  Private Huntress recently completed his paratroop training at Fort Benning, Ga.

Grave marker of Warren E. Huntress in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Eliot (York county), Maine.

Warren enlisted in the Army at Portland, ME on 10 July 1944.  He completed parachutist training in March 1945 and by that time the 508th was already off the line for R&R in Camp Sissonne, France.  Warren would have arrived in time for Honor Guard duty in Frankfurt.
