BUIE H. HYDE

Queen Mary Passenger Manifest
Buie Hyde is listed as passenger 155 under the 168th (US) Station Hospital which was somewhere in England.

Cpl Buie H. Hyde was a member of Company B and was severely wounded in Normandy, France on 3 July 1944. 

Buie was evacuated to a field hospital in the UK and transferred to a second hospital facility on 10 October.  His wounds caused him to remain in treatment there for the next 14 months before he was deemed fir for travel..

Finally, he was aboard the Queen Mary as it steamed out of Southampton, England on December 9, 1945.  The ship arrived in New York Harbor on December 14, 1945.

Buie Hyde died 56 years later on December 17 2001 at the age of 80 in Ranburne, AL  His final resting place is currently unknown.
