Jessie enlisted in the
Army at Ft Bragg, NC on 2 October 1942 and was transferred to Co A,
508th PIR at Camp Blanding 18 days later.
Perhaps injured during
training, Jessie was discharged on 30 August 1943.
He returned to his
home area and died there in 1977 at the age of 59. He was
buried in Holly Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery, Clinton (Sampson
county), NC. |
