LABEN C. JACOBS

Grave markers for Laben C. Jacobs in the Nashville Cemetery, Nashville (Holmes county), Ohio.

Laben enlisted in the Army at Huntington, WV on 3 October 1942 and was assigned to Company D, 508th PIR.

On 10 May 1943 Pvt Jacobs was hospitalized during the 2nd Army maneuvers, aka the Tennessee Maneuvers, possibly as a result of a bad parachute landing.

After two months in the field hospital he was transferred to Oliver General Hospital, Atlanta, GA.  "I was on 25 November 1943 that he was discharged from the hospital and reassigned to the 542nd PIR.

Based on his headstone inscription he was eventually transferred to Company C, 502nd PIR, 101st Airborne Division.

Pfc Jacobs was discharged on 11 November 1945.
