Samuel C. Jacobs, 85, of
Harrisburg died Sunday in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was retired as a
supervisor from the Harrisburg Post Office and Jacobs Brothers TV
Sales and Service.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Catherine
Laboure Catholic Church, Corn Planter Tribe 61 Improved Order of
Redmen and Elks Lodge 12.
He was a former member of Swatara Planning Commission, and he liked hunting, fishing and
gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret M. Jacobs; four sons, Ronald of
Lansdale, Richard of Paxtang, Arthur of Manchester, N.H., and John
of Chambersburg; two daughters, Sharon Pascua of Apollo Beach, Fla.,
and Diane Jacobs of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at his
church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Neill Funeral Home,
Paxtang, with an Elks service at 8: 15 p.m. and prayer service at 8:
30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to 82nd Airborne Division
Association, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 1425 Crooked Hill Road,
Harrisburg 17106.

Harrisburg, PA on 3 February 1943.
On 7 March 1945 Cpl
Jacobs was transferred to Co H, 508th PIR from the 11th
Reinforcement Depot.
SSgt Jacobs was
discharged on 4 January 1946. |
