LEONARD G. JAKAUB

   AUBURN — Leonard G. Jakaub (Lenny), 87, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Auburn Community Hospital with his loving family by his side.
   Lenny was born in Auburn on Feb. 22, 1931, the son of Joseph and Mary Tama Jakaub. He was a Korean War veteran having served from 1951-1954 in the U.S. Army
  . Lenny was a crane/equipment operator with IBEW Local 1249 for 37 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1107 and St. Michael’s Church both in Union Springs. Lenny enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and especially time spent with his family.
   He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon Lillie; by their daughter, Kimberly S. Jakaub; his brother, Joseph (Jake) Jakaub, and great-granddaughter, Hailey Alexis Kitchen.
   Lenny is survived by his sons, Greg (Wanda), of Montezuma, David (Donna), of Union Springs, and Mark, of Moravia; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and his devoted dog, Junior.
   Friends are invited to visit the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC, 42 E. Genesee St., Auburn.
   Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors being accorded.
