Paul
H. Jasiek, a nativee of Berlin, Germany arrived in New York City on 9 November 1924 aboard the SS
Columbus which had departed from Bremen, Germany nine days earlier.
He was accompanied by his mother and two sisters as they traveled to
join his father in Orange, NJ.
Despite being 35 years of age, Paul, then a U.S..citizen,
enlisted in the Army at Newark, NJ on 2 December 1944.
His military decorations include the Combat
Infantryman Badge awarded for action during Normandy, France
Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944. |
