ROBERT J. JESBERGER

Robert J. Jesberger died on 26 April 18991 in Philadelphia, PA, his final resting place has not yet been located.

 

Robert registered for the draft in Bristol, PA on 1 July 1941 and was inducted into the Army at Fort George G. Meade on 10 December that same year.

On 3 January 1945, Pvt Jesberger was wounded in action in Belgium.

 

On 20 January 1950, Robert submitted this application for the Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus.  He was credited with 25 months of domestic duty and 23 months of foreign service netting him the full $500 bonus award.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in the Normandy assault.
