Grave marker for Hugh L. Johnson in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shiloh (Sumter County), South Carolina.

Hugh served in the Headquarters Company of the Second Battalion and apparently made it through the war without a scratch, serving mostly as a T/5.  He was promoted from T/5 (Corporal) to T/4 (Sergeant) in August 1945 and apparently received still another promotion before being discharged late in 1945.
