Jack Ward Jones was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Springfield, Mo., to Clarence
and Ida Jones and died May 26, 2005. Jack was a graduate of Senior High
School in 1950 and of SMS in 1957.
He was proud to have been a paratrooper
with the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team from 1951 to 1954.
Jack
was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Keith, who died in 1974.
He Is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary (Du-Bois) Jones; and daughters,
Cynthia and Marisa Jones of Springfield; granddaughter, Lily (Sides)
Stockton and her husband, Jared, and daughter, Addison of Miller, Mo.;
grandsons, Arlo and Jonah Jones-Sides of Springfield; sister-in-law,
Kathryn Leonard of Republic; brother, Roger Jones of Springfield; three
nieces and other relatives and friends.
A ceremony will be held Wednesday,
June 1 at 10 a.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

Jack enlisted in the Army on 18 January 1951 and
served in the 508th ARCT.
He was discharged as a sergeant on 17 January
1954.
