San Fernando Mission Cemetery, Mission Hills (Los Angeles county),
California.
Edward registered for the draft in Wyandotte, MI
on 14 February 1942.
The Wyandotte Herald, Wyandotte, MI edition for 24
July 1942, page 21 reported that Edward and 81 others had been
inducted intro the Army the previous Monday, July 20th.
Later, Edward volunteered for parachutist duty and
on 11 November 1944 the Wyandotte News Herald
reported that Cpl Jozwiak had completed jump school.
On 17 February 1945, T/5 Jozwiak was transferred
from the 3rd Replacement Depot to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR.
On 14 March 1945 T/5 Jozwiak was admitted to the
241st General Hospital, Camp Sissonne, France and classed as a
non-combat injury. He returned to duty on 28 April 1945.
He was transferred to the 504th Parachute
Infantry, on 26 October 1945.
His military awards include the Combat infantryman
Badge for action during campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February
1945.
On 8 July 1950 Edward married Mary Louise
Scagnetti in Detroit, Wayne, MI. It is she who rests by him
today. |
