LEONARD MICHAEL KACZMAREK

Grave marker for Leonard M. Kaczmarek in the Edwards Cemetery, Mount Pleasant (Titus County), Texas.

Leonard, a native of New York, enlisted in the Army on November 13, 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.  after completion of jump school, he was shipped overseas and assigned to the 82d A/B Division Replacement Depot in Leicester, England.  He was transferred to the 508th PIR,  Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion on 5 August 1944

Leonard was awarded the Combat Infantryman badge for his participation in the Ardennes Campaign 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945.
