CHARLES J. KAFKA

On December 10, 2013, Charles J. Kafka, Beloved husband of the late , Helen A. Kafka. Devoted father of Charles S. Kafka, Barbara Major, and John M. Kafka. Also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace ave. on Thursday, 3-5,7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9am in St.Clare Catholic Church. Interment in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to : Path Finders For Autism, 303 International Circle, Suite 110, Cockeysville, MD 21030.

Charles enlisted in the Army at Baltimore, MD on 12 September 1941.

Pvt Kafka was transferred from the Company G, 508th on 13 August 1943 but his status was listed as 'absent sick at Station Hospital, Ft Bragg, NC."

His name never reappears on regimental records and it is possible his hospitalization caused him to never actually report in with the 508th
