Jake Kainrad Sr.

    Jake Kainrad Sr., 91, of 8751 Tallmadge Rd., Palmyra Township, died Wednesday. He is survived by sons, John and Adam, of Palmyra Township, Jake Jr., of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Alan Kainrad, of Texas, Mrs. John D. Kainrad, of Palmyra, Jake Kainrad III, of Tallmadge, Mrs. Edmond (Kathleen) Beaudry, of Newton Falls, Mrs. Scott (Jeni) Zaher, of Akron; preceded in death by wife, Katherine, and brother, Christian, in 1973, and sons, Michael and William. Friends received Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Wood Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Church, Lake Milton. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Ravenna. (Wood.)

Jake registered for the draft in Kent, OH on 25 January 1943 and was inducted unto the Army in Cleveland, OH on 25 February 1943.

On 26 October 1945, Pfc Kainrad was transferred from either the 504th or 505th Parachute Infantry.  The assignment order co-mingled men from both regiments without indicating which unit an individual came from.

Jake married Genneffa Ann Dent in Summit, OH on 30 April 1949.
