JOSEPH G. KALINOWSKI

Grave marker for Joseph G. Kalinowski in New Hope Cemetery, Burton (Howard county), Missouri.

Joseph enlisted in the Army at Indianapolis, IN on 20 October 1942.

Pvt Kalinowski was assigned to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR..  He was declared as qualified parachutist on 5 March 1943 when the regiment completed parachute training.

On 11 April 1943 Kalinowski was transferred from Hq 2nd to the pool at The Parachute School, Fort Benning, GA.

Nothing more is known of his service career but he apparently saw action as his grave marker indicates he received the Purple Heart
