PETER GREGORY KARRES

Grave marker for Peter G. Karres  and his sister in Section 23 of the Laurelwood Cemetery, Rock Hill (York County), South Carolina.

Karres was a member of Company I.  He received the Purple Heart after he was wounded in action on 4 July 44 in Normandy.

[Note:  Official Antinational Archives records as well as orders issued by the 508th concisely show his name as Peter (NMI) Karres.
