member: of Christ Lutheran Church.. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, January 16, at Christ Lutheran Church conducted by his pastors Dr. Jacob L Lackey and the Rev Gary Eichhorn. Committal Services will follow at 1 PM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cabarrus County. He is survived by his wife

J.D. enlisted in the
Army on 22 July 1940 in Charlotte, NC and was assigned to the 507th PIR.
On 16 October 1942, J.D. was
transferred in the initial contingent of officers and men who were to
act as cadre in the newly formed 508th PIR ..
On T/5 Kelley was attached
from Med Det to Hq Hq.
T/5 Kelley was promoted to
Staff Sergeant on 15 November 1942 .
On
5 April 1947, JD married Sarah Zelda Overcash in Kannapolis, NC. |
