Grave marker for John P. Kemp in the Woodland
Park Cemetery, Mineral Wells (Palo Pinto county), Texas.
John enlisted in
the Army on 6 October 1942 at Abilene, TX. He was
initially assigned to the Headquarters Company 1st Battalion and
on 26 May 1944 Pvt Kemp was transferred to the Regimental
Headquarters Company (Hq Hq) after being wounded in France.
He was awarded the
Purple Heart as a consequence of that wound.. |
