Three Killed In Auto Crash

   ROCK HILL, S. C. (AP) — Three South Carolinians were killed and a Pennsylvania truck driver injured when a car and a tractor-trailer truck collided near here last night.
   State highway patrolmen identified the dead as J. C. Martin, 55; Robert L. Demby and Robert Kennington, all occupants of the car. York County Hospital said the injured man was Elwood Purcell, R. D. 3, Lewisburg, Pa.

Truck Driver Will Be Held

   ROCK HILL, Nov. 3 A York County Coroner's jury ruled last night that three men "came to their deaths due to carelessness and negligence on the part of both the auto and truck drivers" in an auto-tractor trailer collision 23. Oct
   York County Coroner M. P. Nichols said that he will issue a warrant to hold Elwood Purcell of Rt. 3, Levvisburg, Pa., driver of the truck who has been under S5,000 bond since shortly after the accident.
   Victims of the crash which happened on Highway 21 near Brandon's Grill, were Richard L. Demby of Rock Hill, reported to be the driver of the car; J. C. Martin of the Harmony section and Robert Kennington of Great Falls.

Request for Headstone or Marker for Robert R. Kennington to be erected in Pleasant Plain Baptist Church Cemetery, Pleasant Plain (Lancaster county), South Carolina.

Robert enlisted in the Army at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC on 5 December 1942.

He was a member of the 508th in late 1945 but research as to which company he was in continues..
