WILLIAM T. KENNY

WILLIAM T. KENNY NANTICOKE

    William T Kenny, 61. of Nanticoke [MD], a World War II Army veteran, died Wednesday in the Peninsula General Hospital Medical Center after a  brief illness.
  . Born in Baltimore, he was a son of the late James T. and Effie L, Kelly Kenny. He was a retired employee of the Martin Marietta Co. in Baltimore.
   Surviving are his wife, Juanita V. Kenny; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Spencer, Nanticoke; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Messick Funeral Home in Bivalve [MD]. The Rev. Joseph Drobrinski will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Hill Memory Gardens, near Salisbury.
   Friends may call at the funeral after 7:30 o'clock tonight.

William registered for the draft in Baltimore, MD on 16 October 1940 and was inducted into the Army in Baltimore or on 27 November 1943.

On 22  November 1944 Pvt Kenny was transferred to Service Company, 508th PIR.

He was appointed to Pfc on 14 January 1945.

Pfc Kenny was discharged on 17 January 1946

His military decorations include the Bronze Servicer Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations as well as the Comb at Infantryman Badge for action during campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945.
