LAWRENCE H. KJELLBERG

Pvt Kjellberg was transferred to Service Company, 508th PIR from HQ 82nd Airborne division on 3 October 1944.

On 21 November 1944 he was transferred to Company B.

Pvt Kjellberg was listed as slightly injured in action  in Belgium on 20 December 1944 and evacuated.

Still hospitalized, on 31 May 1945 he was dropped from the 508th rolls and transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients. He did not return to the regiment.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge and Good Conduct Medal.

Lawrence was killed in an automobile accident which initially was thought to be a hit and run.  A day later it was determined to have been a freak outcome of a single car incident
