Albert M. Klatte enlisted
in the Army at Los Angeles, CA on 21 November 1942.
In 1943 Pvt Klatte was
assigned to Hq 2nd, 508TH PIR. On 11 September 1944 he was
hospitalized in the 184th General Hospital, Mansfield, England where he
remained until 28 September, nine days after the regiment had made its jump into Holland.
Initially released to
Service Company for light duty he was transferred back to Hq 2nd on 7
December 1944.
Pfc Klatte was discharged
at the separation center Camp McCoy, WI on 27 December 1945.
His military decorations
include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in
the Normandy assault. |
