Retired Army Master Sgt. John C. Klein, 78, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham.

Mr. Klein was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He also was an ex-prisoner of war and a member of the Special Forces. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and three Combat Infantryman Badges.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Ira Sutton and John Woodard. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mr. Klein is survived by two daughters, Mary-Lynn Sutton of Sanford and Patsy Bundy of Fayetteville; three sisters, Gwen Thoman of North Richland Hills, Texas, Jeanne Walker of Mason, Texas, and Ruth Comley of Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
