Grave marker for David E. Knopp in Anderson Memorial Park, Anderson (Madison county), Indiana.

David enlisted in the Army at Indianapolis, IN on 21 November 1942.

While Service Company Morning Reports are unavailable for 1942, Pvt Knopp does appear going on furlough and returning in August 1943.

On 3 September 1943, he was sent on Detached Service to the 2nd Army Maneuver #3 at Camp Forrest, Tennessee.  He did not return to the regiment.
