LESTER D. KRAFT
Lester Kraft

   SPENCER, Iowa - Lester Kraft, 74, of Spencer died Monday at Spencer Municipal Hospital. Services will be at noon Friday at Warner Chapel in Spencer, with military rites following the service at the chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday.

Grave marker for Lester D. Kraft in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Primghar (O'Brien county), Iowa.

Lester registered for the draft in Sibley, IA on 30 June 1942 but was not inducted into the Army until 26 July 1944.

On 23 October 1945, Pfc Kraft was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to Co F, 508th PIR. 

Pfc Kraft was listed as a passenger on the SS Vulcania which arrived in New York, NY on 8 January 1946.  He was discharged on 10 June 1947.
