BERTRAND J. LACHANCE

Bertrand J. Lachance, 86, of 1451 Main Street, East Hartford, passed away on Wednesday (February 24, 2011) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Canada on July 26, 1924, he was the son of Alfred and Annie (Beaulieu) Lachance.

He retired from Connecticut Spring in Farmington, where he worked as a machinist. Bert was a longtime communicant and past sacristan at St. Rose Church in East Hartford and was a 4th degree member of the East Hartford Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by two sisters, Fernande Cyr of Madawaska, ME, and Teresa Cote of Grand Isle, ME; a special sister-in-law and nephew, Kathleen Lachance and Robert J. Lachance, Jr., and his wife, Lisa, all of East Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. at the Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford.
