ROBERT D. LA FLEUR
Served in U.S. Army WWII - Paratrooper - jumped D-Day on Normandie Beach, France.

Survived by Children - Deborah (1954), Roy (1956), Rhonda (1959), Dianna (1961). Wife - Wanda Carey La Fleur.

Machinist by trade. Died of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's Disease) at age 50.

Grave marker for Robert D. La Fleur in the Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes (Los Angeles county), California.

Robert enlisted at Hartford, CT on on 9 November 1942 and was assigned to Company G, 50th PIR.

On 28 December 1943 while the regiment was sailing from New York harbor, Robert as in the hospital ashore.  After recovery he was assigned t another parachute unit.
