JOHN R. LAIRD

Laird, John, Sr., passed away on September 26, Palm Beach County, age 83. He served as a paratrooper in WW II. He owned a bakery in Pennsylvania, NJ. He moved to FL in 1971, and he was a real estate and Bridge Director. He is survived by 3 children; Marcia, John Jr., and Ann Lawrence. 6 grand children. Services will be held on Forest Lawn on Copans Road at 2:00 PM.

Crypt marker for John R. and Lillian L. Laird in the Sanctuary Mausoleum Phase II,  Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, Pompano Beach (Broward County), Florida.

John was a member of Company B and was captured on D-Day in France.  He was held as a POW until May 6, 1945 when he was liberated from Stalag 13B Weiden Bavaria 49-13.

Pfc Laird arrived in New York City Harbor aboard the USS Admiral W. S. Benson. (see line 64)
