LUCIEN H. LEVEILLE

Baptism record for Lucien H. Leveille in Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus, Montréal, Québec

Lucien enlisted in the Army at Ftor Devens, MA on 28 April 1944.

On 7 March 1945 Pvt Leveille was transferred from the 11th Reinforcement Depot to Company C, 508th PIR.

Pfc Leveille was discharged on 23 January 1946.

Note:  His middle name is listed as Hermenegilde, Herbert and Hurby in various documents.  However his naturalization documents show bear his signature as Lucien Hurby Leveille so it is assumed that is the most correct version.

Lucien entered the U.S. at St. Albans. VT with his parents and a sister on 17 December 1923 at the age or 4.  The family's destination was Pascoag, RI.

Lucien's petition for naturalization was denied on 28 August 1944 but granted after the war under Section 701 of the Nationality Act of 1940 which provided for the naturalization of noncitizens who served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War II.
